ABOUT RAW recruits
About Us
RAW recruits started out as a F.E.A.R. Combat community way back in 2008 having at our peak around 80 members and a dedicated game server hosting many games such as FEAR, UT3, COD4, ARMA3 & DAYZ. After the decline of FEAR our members have branched out into many other games. These days we are a small informal group who can be found on Discord playing various games, much depending on the flavour of the month, some even still play F.E.A.R. now and then!
Currently it is Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare: Warzone (Free to play), World War Z or Rising Storm2: Vietnam with a touch of CS Go and some card playing UNO thrown in for good measure. Last month it was Prop hunt on Gary's Mod and Ring of Elysium with some Worms Clan Wars, next month it could be anything!
If you want to play a game as part of a team or you just want to chat then feel free to hop on to our Discord server, we can be found there most evenings.

LATEST GAME REVIEW
Call of Duty: Warzone
Here is our round up of the latest attempt from Call of Duty maker Activision to capitalise on the battle royale (BR) trend arrives in the form of a new free-to-play mode called Warzone. Available as either a free update for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare or as a free standalone download that doesn’t require you to own the parent game. Warzone contains everything we’ve come to expect from a battle royale game: one gigantic map, large player pools (up to 150 in this one), and a last-person-standing contest to see who can survive the competition.
This is a battle royale game with top notch gun-play. Fortnite might be fun but its action is mediocre by most standards, and by comparison Warzone handles almost exactly the same as Modern Warfare.
Of course, a battle royale game is only as good as its map. Warzone’s first and only map is Verdansk, a massive valley of dense city centres and industrial districts that easily fits all 150 players. You would expect such a huge map to become a haven for bush-hugging snipers, but Verdansk is so dense with buildings that most of it comes down to short and mid-range play. Instead of getting randomly domed from a mile away, most of the fire-fights play out like a regular Call of Duty match.
There’s a lot to love about Warzone. The ways it limits the randomness of loot and simplifies inventory addresses two of the biggest problems with the battle royale genre. Warzone wants victory to be decided by smart positioning and twitch shooting skill, not your armour tier. The only downside to Warzone’s less-complex loot landscape is a meta that’s potentially too shallow to stay interesting. Infinity Ward has aggressively updated Modern Warfare since its release last year, so we hope that Warzone will continue to grow as its own standalone game, and gets the attention it will need if it's to compete with the likes of Fortnite and Apex Legends. Next week we will be covering Epic Games's World War Z...

PAST & PRESENT GAMES
Like most new gaming communities we started out by playing just one game, which was F.E.A.R. Combat but over time things change and now our members can be found playing a variety of games, ranging from what are now old classics such as CS:GO to the latest releases, like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Click on any of the icons above to watch a trailer for that game which will demonstrate the game play.
Part of this diversity is a result of many companies now releasing games for free, nothing new there, sure. But previously you were limited to games like Team Fortress 2 from Steam, then came Epic's Fortnight and Tencent's Ring of Elysium which upped the bar. Recently we have seen that bar raised yet again with the free releases of Call of Duty: Warzone from Activision, which was downloaded by over 15 million players in the first three days, and Epic Games' announcement that for one week it would be offering it's World War Z (based on the movie) Zombie game for free and keep forever! Which has now been followed up by the release of GTA V being offered FREE (From Thursday 14th May through to the 21st), which is one of the highest rated video games of all time.
It's hard to resist highly polished quality games like these. For the full range of games that are currently being played by our members, check out the above trailers.

Dying Light 2 Delayed Indefinitely
Dying Light 2 is expected to be released in 2020. The horror RPG was initially pegged for a spring 2020 release date at E3 2019, but developer Techland announced the game’s release would be delayed indefinitely. A release in the second half of 2020 looks more likely now for Dying Light 2.
Set 15 years after the original, Dying Light 2 takes place in the last great human settlement, a brutal unforgiving place plunged into a modern dark age. The player becomes Aiden Caldwell, an infected survivor with exceptional parkour skills, who can climb, jump and slide across the post-apocalyptic city while making tough choices about the future of society. Like its predecessor, the entire game can be played in 4-player co-op, allowing you to see how other players choices impact the city.
Expect a huge open world to explore, immersive first-person action, impressive movement mechanics and some horrors to face when the sun goes down… Check out the video trailer and more gaming news below:-

I had already agreed to the upgrade and sometime during the last month the necessary files were downloaded and I started getting pestered about doing the upgrade." Feb 12, 2020 - 39 replies 9457 Views
