If we play this game then it will be a Wednesday night! Until recently, we had a good turn out on Wednesdays but it's died off as late.

The multiplayer portion of the game features various game modes, and contains a leveling system that allows the player to unlock additional weapons, weapon attachments, and camouflage schemes as they advance, such as assault rifles with laser sites, claymore mines, 50 caliber sniper rifles, machine guns, night-vision goggles, and ghillie suits for maximum concealment.

Critically acclaimed, it was the top-selling game worldwide for 2007,selling around seven million copies by January 2008 and almost sixteen million by November 2013.

Pool Nation

Pool Nation

// Steam keys from £0.99

For 2 players, a game you can just jump into and play a few frames, great late at night, especially with a few beers.

Yes, it’s a pool game, and you could argue that there’s not much more to say beyond that. But pool is a rare sight on the PC, unless it’s of the top-down Flash variety, and this is a bloody good example of the form.

In fact it could be the shiniest game to ever grace a PC. Cherry Pop Games shows that this is anything but a port to the PC but rather an upgraded version that took everything that made the 360 version great and added even more.

Plus, it's got some great music... No, wait! I'm lying, the music's crap, even after a few beers but the graphics are great.

Red Orchestra 2

// Steam keys from £4.95

A World War II-themed tactical first-person shooter. Realistic guns, with bullet drop and spin. When reloading a weapon, the character checks the weight of the new magazine and determines if it is heavy or light.

The cover system allows players to hide behind all objects to avoid gunfire. While in cover, players can peek out or fire blindly. However, the shape, size and, composition of the object changes its effectiveness at protecting the player. Health does not regenerate, but non-fatal wounds must still be bandaged so no more health is lost through blood loss.

Race Driver GRID

// Dead, died, defunct! This game is no more.

No longer played by us due to the fact that Grid has had its official servers for the PC and PS3 shut down as of 19 June 2011. Yes, you can still play it using Tunngle or GameRanger but who can be arsed!

Grid had a highly accessible 12-player online mode, with a flashback feature to rewind the action after devastating crashes or costly mistakes, and a novel approach to trading vehicles. It may have lacked the basic features such as adjustable weather and split-screen multiplayer, but Grid still had enough fresh ideas to make it a notable entry in the racing genre.

We are looking forward to our next car game that will replace this.
