Ah, shame on me! How could I forget about it? A few days ago you mentioned about your upcoming birthday in one of the topics, but I guess I was trying so hard to shoot everyone in Bad Company 2 that I completely forgot about your special day. Neat package there, also good to have the overclock under warranty. Would be neat to see how they reach that 3.8GHz overclock compared to my settings sometime. Do keep in mind for future RAM upgrades from 4GB to 8GB might make the overclock unstable depending on how they did the overclock and your luck. If that happens it usually just a matter of tweaking a specific voltage that I cant remember the name of right now but its good to know.
Also did you go for SLI right away or will you wait with that? |

Well it's all on order now, pretty much to the specs above except I took peoples advice and downgraded to
Corsair XMS3 2x2GB DDR3 1600MHz  and also changed the card reader to an internal Hipoint as that 52 in 1 didn't include xD Picture cards.  Looked at the new H70 but decided both the size and the push-pull effect would most likely interfere with the air flow in the case and maybe effect the cooling of other components. Also ordered these:  And to power them  No, not just for the pretty lights! And no, it's not a graphics card it's a Asus Xonar D2X Sound Card, no more EAX problems. Managed to source all the components with one company, they were out on price on the graphics cards but agreed to supply those at cost, so I've now got them to build the rig and overclock the CPU to 3.8, this means that everything is under warranty and not just the parts, including the overclock. With a bit of luck I should be gaming again by this time next week.  |
